Navigon 2200T - Great GPS

I purchased this GPS and I really like it. I like the text where it tells you what streets are coming up, and when to exactly turn. I got a Garmin about 2 years ago, it was nice, but this one has so many more features on it. The Garmin just told you to turn in so many feet, but when there are several streets that you can turn into, your not sure which street to enter into, and if you do turn, its too late to change your mind. I am so happy and very pleased with this Navagon GPS. The price is right also. The free shipping is even better.

Navigon 2200T - Very pleased with first GPS

As my heading implies, this is my first GPS. I used it for a trip from central Ohio to Memphis and it was awesome! I accidentally left my atlas in my other vehicle and had no directions so I was leary, but the device worked almost flawlessly. The lane assistant was very useful in metropolitan areas. Satellite acquisition has only been a few seconds each time. The audio works fine. The screen is easy for me to read. If I had one negative it would be the POI database and POI accuracy. It is limited and sometimes would give me partially inaccurate directions (correct exit but location further down road than indicated). I hope the map update service and software upgrades will address the POI issue in the future, but the device is very accurate when you have an address. It also recalculates almost instantly when you make a wrong turn.

My first GPS, so nothing much to compare it to (besides a few Magellan in rental cars).
note: I used this GPS to drive from Portland, Maine to Sacramento, California with a detour through Vegas.

PRO:
Routing- routes quickly. reroutes seamlessly. routes are average.

Traffic reports- I haven’t hit much traffic yet, but the stuff I did hit, it would warn me about. I couldn’t tell if it was rerouting me.

Touch screen - good. takes a little practice. usually when I miss type it doesn’t register it, which is nice.

UI- the UI is nice but takes practice. really explore around before forming opinions.

multi destination - works really well. easy to skip a POI.

speed limit broadcast - shows you the current speed limit if it knows it and warns you if you go X amount over it (default it yells when you go 10+ over, which is perfect for me)

POI - Like i said, drove across country. The POIs were amazing and saved my butt many times. We took this trip with no hotels or maps, just this GPS and the internet at night.
